Scratch is a popular free programming language developed by the MIT Lifelong Kindergarten group. It empowers students by giving them an environment to build, create, and solve complex problems in a friendly, non-threatening way. Scratch can be used to complement any subject curriculum; students can tell stories, create art, develop interactive games, or create animations to demonstrate content knowledge while developing their computational thinking skills. Workshop attendees will learn about the Scratch interactive development environment and will learn how to make a simple game or art creation.
