Institution, Ownership, and the Need to Build Participatory Cultures in Our Schools
In a time when information is abundant and students have the ability to learn from the more than 2 billion connected individuals worldwide, schools continue to struggle to break free from institutional constraints that dominated the 20th century. In the meantime, educators often fail to recognize who truly owns the learning and how to leverage the power of connective technologies to foster a participatory culture in our schools. Join Tony as he challenges educators to think of the institution differently as he shares a vision for schools beyond the 21st century – schools that honor all learning, foster the development of a participatory culture, and form partnerships to personalize learning for every student.
